Reissue of Passport in lieu of Expiration of Validity (For Adults aged below 60 years)

Applicants may apply under this category within one year before date of expiry of Existing Passport i.e. if the existing passport is expiring on 15.08.2025, applicants may apply on or after 15.08.2024

1.    Prescribed Application form duly online filled at https://portal6.passportindia.gov.in
(Note: Applicants should follow "Steps to Apply" at the portal).

2.    Original Indian Passport (mandatory).

3.    Self-attested photocopy of Passport (Front and Last pages).

4.    Self-attested photocopy of valid Stay Permit or Visa.

5.    Self-attested photocopy of Meldebescheinigung (City Registration).

6.    One (1) recently taken Photograph of required specifications measuring 5x5 cm (2x2 inches).

7.    Proof of Fee Transfer. (if payment done through Bank transfer)

8.    One good quality pre-paid self-addressed envelope (Size A4) with postage stamps worth € 4.25 pasted on it. (Optional – In case applicant wishes to receive the new passport by Registered Post).

(New passport validity shall be 10 years)

Reissue of Passport in lieu of Exhaustion of Pages
(Applicants may apply under this category in case there are only 1 or 2 empty pages are left in Existing Passport)

Reissue of Passport in lieu of Change of Personal Particulars / Address

Applicants may apply under this category in following cases: 
(i) Inclusion of Spouse Name after Marriage;
(ii) Change of Name (Female) due to marriage;
(iii) Deletion of Spouse Name due to Divorce;
(iv) Change of Name (Normal Case for all applicants).

(iv) Change of Name (Normal Case for all applicants)    a.    Clippings of two leading newspapers in original containing advertisements of change of name published at least 30 days before the date of application (one daily newspaper should be of the area of applicant's permanent address in India and the other at current address in Germany). Advertisement should not be published more than one year prior to the date of applying for passport.

The Gazette Notification of the concerned Indian State Government

b.    At least two public or school documents issued in the desired/applied changed name to ascertain that the applicant has actually changed his/her name.

Fresh Passport for New Born Children

(Applicants may apply for Fresh Passport & Birth Registration (Together) for their New Born Child within one year after Birth)

Reissue of Passport for Illegal Immigrants recently issued Residence Permit

IMPORTANT NOTES:

1.    The printout of the application should be signed by Applicant on First and Last Pages (within given box).
2.    In case of Minor applicants, Thumb Impression of the Minor child should be taken on first page (within given box) and either of the parents should sign the last page of the application (within given box).
3.    PRINT PREVIEW on printout of application form should not be Blank and should be printed properly as in the Soft File.
4.    In case something has been filled incorrectly during online application, applicants should fill a new application online. Submission of wrongly filled application should be avoided.
5.    Birth Registration and Fresh Passport should be applied together in person and fee may be paid by Giro Debit Card at the Counter for these two Services.
6.    TATKAL (Express) Passport Service is not available at the Consulate. The passport applications will be processed as Normal applications only even if the TATKAL option has been selected by the applicant.
